Two UC Law SF Alumni Appointed to the California Bench

UC Law SF alumni are leaders in law, with many appointed to courts at all levels.

Governor Gavin Newsom has appointed two UC Law San Francisco alumni to serve as judges in California’s Superior Courts.

Matthew Siroka ’04 has been appointed to Marin County Superior Court. Siroka worked as an Associate at Minami Tamaki LLP from 2003 to 2006 and has been in solo practice since 2006. He served as a Staff Attorney at the First District Appellate Project from 2009 to 2011. He fills the vacancy created by retiring Judge Paul M. Haakenson.

Ai Mori ’00 has been appointed to San Francisco County Superior Court. Mori served in multiple positions in the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District from 2006 to 2020, including as Chambers Attorney to Associate Justice Ioana Petrou, Justice Pro Tem Rebecca Wiseman, Associate Justice Martin Jenkins, and Administrative Presiding Justice William McGuiness. She worked as a Staff Attorney in the California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District from 2000 to 2002 and as an Associate at Minami Tamaki from 2002 to 2006. She fills the vacancy created by retiring Judge Suzanne R. Bolanos.

Their selections underscore the College’s longstanding tradition of producing graduates who go on to serve as judges and leaders in the law and public service.
