Two UC Law SF Alumni Appointed to the California Bench

Veronica Ramos ’07 and Michael Martin ’12 join the California Superior Court, continuing UC Law SF’s tradition of alumni public service.
Governor Gavin Newsom has appointed two UC Law San Francisco alumni to serve as judges in California’s Superior Courts.
Veronica Ramos ’07 has been appointed to the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Ramos has served as a deputy public defender at the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office since 2008. From 2019 to 2020, she was interim justice deputy for Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis. She fills the vacancy created by retiring Judge Richard Bloom.
Michael Martin ’12 joined the Riverside County Superior Court in February. Martin has served as lead appellate court attorney at the Second District Court of Appeal, Division 6 since 2017, and has taught as an adjunct professor at both The Santa Barbara and Ventura Colleges of Law and UC Law SF. E He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Irma Asberry.
Their selections underscore the College’s longstanding tradition of preparing graduates for leadership in public service and the law.
