Bio
Steven Bazley is Professor of Practice and Director of the Startup Legal Garage within the Center for Innovation (C4i).
Professor Bazley began his career in London at Latham & Watkins LLP, specializing in cross-border transactions. He moved to Southern California to expand and bring his corporate law knowledge to representing both public companies and startup ventures in several industries, including biotechnology, entertainment, healthcare, hospitality, and real estate. After a decade of practice, Professor Bazley became an entrepreneur himself as the co-founder of Florahound, a high-end rare and exotic plant store carving out a new and growing business model in live plant retail.
Professor Bazley graduated from Duke University School of Law in 2013 with a JD and an LLM in International and Comparative Law, and from Duke University in 2010, summa cum laude, with a BA in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies and International and Comparative Studies.
In his free time, Professor Bazley is a dedicated chef and baker, constantly tinkering with vintage recipes and pushing the boundaries of his skillset. He is passionate about cultural preservation, a collector of fine antiques (with a penchant for English fine bone china) and sea glass, and a budding potter. As a nature enthusiast, Professor Bazley and his husband frequently take their two rescue dogs on trails and on the hunt for rare gemstones and rocks.
