The Into the Future campaign is an opportunity to invest in the students, faculty, and ideas that will define UC Law SF’s next chapter.
Getting to know our alumni is the best part of my job — hearing your stories, learning where your UC Law SF education has taken you, and finding ways to connect you and those experiences to support the next generation at the College. I have had the pleasure of working with many of the alumni who appear in this issue, and their accomplishments are powerful reminders of the strength and reach of this community.
Recently, I met an alum eager to reconnect with UC Law SF. Within a week, we introduced them to a first-year student seeking mentorship, and a meaningful relationship quickly took shape. Around the same time, I hosted another alum who had not visited campus in decades and was struck by how much the College has grown. Different moments, both leading to renewed connection and a reminder that sustained engagement is what drives UC Law SF forward.
That spirit is at the heart of Into the Future, our first comprehensive fundraising campaign. Across this issue, you have seen UC Law SF in motion: students gaining hands-on experience, faculty shaping legal conversations, and alumni making impact across the profession.
Into the Future represents a strategic investment in these people and the programs and spaces that will define UC Law SF’s next chapter. The campaign has four pillars:
- Student Success — expanding scholarship support
- Faculty Excellence — investing in endowed professorships and academic leadership
- Innovative Initiatives — advancing centers, clinics, and emerging areas of study
- Academic Village — creating a vibrant, connected campus environment
With less than a year remaining before the campaign concludes in June 2027, we have raised more than $80 million toward our $100 million goal. These investments are already opening doors for students, strengthening faculty excellence, and enriching campus life.
As alumni, you know the value of a UC Law SF education. That value grows through continued involvement, including mentoring students, participating in programs, hiring graduates, and sharing professional expertise; engaging with faculty and academic initiatives that advance centers, clinics, and emerging areas of study; and taking on leadership roles through service on alumni boards, participation in regional chapters and affinity groups, and attendance at alumni events. Philanthropic support in all forms sustains and advances these priorities.
As we approach UC Law SF’s 150th anniversary in the 2027-2028 academic year, we do so with strong momentum and a shared sense of purpose. The progress we are making today is shaping the institution we will become tomorrow. The best is yet to come, and we invite you to be part of it.
