Bio
Judge Michael Bishay is the Supervising Judge of family law and HHJ courthouse for the Alameda County Superior Court. He is the Chair of the family law committee and member of the executive, family violence, and personnel committees. He is a member of the Judicial Council’s Family and Juvenile Law Advisory Committee, the Family Law Curriculum Committee, and the Domestic Violence Institute Workgroup. He is California Judges Association Board Member. Judge Bishay is the Adjunct Professor of Law at UC Berkeley Law and UC Law SF and the contributing managing editor of CEB’s “Practice Under the California Family Code,” which received ACLEA’s 2026 Award of Outstanding Achievement for its domestic violence chapter. Judge Bishay was the recipient of the 2026 Family Law Judicial Officer of the Year by California Lawyers Association and the 2022 Distinguished Service Award for a Judicial Officer by the Alameda County Bar Association.
