Bio

Adjunct Professor Adrienne Go (BA, UC Berkeley; JD, Harvard Law School) is a seasoned product and regulatory counsel with over two decades of legal practice at the intersection of law, business, and technology. She is co-author of Product Counsel: Advise, Innovate, and Inspire (Globe Law & Business, 2024), the primary text for this course. At UC Law SF, she teaches Product Counseling – LAW 526, an experiential simulation course that focuses on the role of in-house counsel in advising on legal risks across consumer protection, privacy, commercial, and emerging regulatory areas. The course integrates doctrine, ethics, and practical skills through simulations and exercises that develop students’ ability to deliver clear, business-aligned legal advice.

Professor Go built her product counsel career at eBay, where she imagined and led the company’s first-ever team focused on building risk-appropriate customer-delighting products. There, she partnered with engineers, designers, and business leaders to support global e-commerce initiatives, shape trust and safety policies, and navigate emerging regulatory challenges. Her work spanned product launches, platform governance, payments innovation, and global legal risk, helping to position eBay as a trusted technology marketplace at scale. She now serves as Lead Counsel for Walmart Marketplace, partnering with business and product teams to help scale and evolve one of the world’s most respected retail businesses through global e-commerce.

In addition to her legal practice and teaching, Professor Go is a frequent speaker and writer on tech law, legal design, and innovation in in-house legal departments. Her TEDx talk, “Training Lawyers for Real Life — Because Life Isn’t Like TV” calls for transforming legal education to better equip lawyers for real-world complexity.

She is also the co-founder of the Product Law Hub, a collaborative initiative advancing the discipline of product counseling through training, frameworks, and community.
