Bio
Charanjit (“Charan”) Brahma ’99 has been one of the law school’s most engaged alumni leaders for more than a decade. He has served on the Foundation Board of Trustees since 2019, including as Fundraising Co-Chair and a member of the Executive Committee. Effective July 1, 2026, he will serve as President of the Foundation Board. Prior to joining the Foundation, he held multiple leadership roles on the Alumni Association Board of Governors, including President. Charan established the SALSA Endowed Scholarship, launching in 2026, and previously helped organize Washington, DC-area alumni to create a scholarship fund supporting students pursuing summer or semester public service opportunities in the nation’s capital.
Charan is a partner at Benesch Law and a nationally recognized intellectual property litigator whose practice focuses on patent litigation and complex technology and pharmaceutical matters. He represents clients in trial, appellate, and patent review proceedings and holds degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Michigan.
