Bio

Corey Linehan joins the Center for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution in July 2025 as Associate Director. In that role, he supports the Center’s teaching, practice, and scholarship. His work applies negotiation and dispute resolution theory to pressing public policy and organizational challenges.

Prior to joining the Center, Linehan served in federal roles at that intersection. As Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Legislative Affairs, he was responsible for helping the Department navigate its relationship with Congress and advance its policy priorities. He also negotiated new health care, education, and national service law as Senior Health & Education Counsel to U.S. Senator Chris Coons.

Linehan’s career began as a high school teacher in St. Louis, Missouri. Building on that experience, he has served on teaching teams for courses related to negotiation, leadership, and conflict at a variety of institutions, including as Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center.

Linehan holds a JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School; MEd from the University of Missouri—St. Louis, and BSFS, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He is an alumnus of both AmeriCorps and the Fulbright Program and a member of the California bar. He and his husband, Chris, and their dog, Chloe, are enthusiastic explorers of the parks of Northern California.
