Bio

Drew Williams is an Adjunct Professor focusing on legal research, writing, and advocacy.  He is also an in-house attorney at ADR Services, Inc., where he focuses on researching for and advising arbitrators, judicial referees, special masters, and mediators on complex civil matters.  Prior to his work at ADR Services, Inc., he spent several years in private practice at a mid-sized firm doing general civil litigation including government, commercial, and business litigation.  Prior to his work in civil litigation, he served as a Research Attorney for the Criminal Division judges of the San Francisco Superior Court.

He received a B.A. in Political Science with Latin Honors from Saint Mary’s College of California in 2011 and his J.D. from University of California College of the Law, San Francisco in 2015.  While at Hastings, he was a Senior Supervising Editor at the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly and served as a Teaching Assistant to Professor Michael Salerno and a Research Assistant to Professor (now Academic Dean) Morris Ratner.  Professor Williams also externed for San Francisco Superior Court Judges Ethan Schulman (now presiding over one of San Francisco Superior Court’s Complex Litigation Departments) and Tracie Brown (now a Justice on the First District Court of Appeal).

Professor Williams also regularly serves as a Panel Justice for the National Appellate Advocacy Competition and for the Hastings Moot Court Program.  In his free time, he enjoys reading mystery novels, taking trips up the Northern California coast and to Lake Tahoe, and attending the San Francisco Symphony.
