Bio

Hanna will split her time between the CDO and Externship Programs. She will provide counseling and support to all students as they navigate their interests and professional goals (with special focus on judicial clerkships and externship opportunities) and she strives to bring a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and wellness to her counseling.

Hanna is originally from Chicago and earned her BA from the University of Illinois Chicago. She received her JD from the University of Illinois College of Law and was the Outreach Coordinator for the Government Interest Law Association. During law school, she served as an AmeriCorps J.D. with Legal Aid Chicago by coordinating a free monthly legal clinic, operating a Juvenile Expungement Help Desk, and representing victims of domestic violence. In addition to working with students, she has a passion for work involving prison reform, civil rights, and domestic violence.

She previously worked as an Attorney Advisor with the Social Security Administration and Board of Veterans’ Appeals, focusing on disability law and working closely with Administrative Law Judges. She also worked as a Staff Attorney with the Civil Research/Screening Division of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco.
