Bio

Kyla Burke-Lazarus is the Director of Public Interest and Government Programs at UC Law SF, where she has worked since 2022. In this role, she advises students pursuing public interest and public service careers, with a focus on empowering future legal advocates, cultivating partnerships with nonprofit and government employers, and developing innovative programming. She is actively involved in the National Association for Law Placement (NALP) and currently serves as a Regional Representative for the West/Rocky Mountain Region (2025–2027).

Prior to her work in higher education, Kyla was a Supervising Attorney at the Immigration Center for Women and Children, where she represented immigrant survivors of gender-based violence. She holds a B.A. from the University of British Columbia and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
