Bio
Morgan Wells, Esq. is the Associate Director of the Master of Studies in the Law (MSL) program and a Professor of Practice. In this capacity, she both teaches and advises MSL students throughout their time at UC Law SF, with a focus on equipping them with foundational doctrinal knowledge and legal analysis skills. She also supports the development of online courses and curriculum for the MSL program. Professor Wells has a keen interest in supporting the personal and professional goals of MSL students, and is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Professor Wells earned her B.A. in English Writing from Denison University and her J.D. from UC Davis School of Law, where she was awarded Order of the Coif and a pro bono certificate. Prior to joining UC Law SF, Professor Wells spent a decade working and practicing law in the non-profit sector as in-house counsel, and briefly managed her own practice. She has experience in immigration, employment, tax, and business law, especially where those areas intersect with the needs of non-profit/tax-exempt organizations.
In addition to her roles at UC Law SF, Professor Wells is the Executive Director and a board member for the Center for Creative Inquiry, a non-profit organization based in Berkeley, California. She leads retreats and other programs on mindfulness and contemplative philosophy, with a special emphasis on how mindfulness can impact our way of acting and being in the world.
