Bio
As of January 1, 2026, Nicholas (“Nick”) Conway serves as the Director of Moot Court and Professor of Practice at UC Law SF.
Before joining UC Law SF’s faculty, Professor Conway served as an Associate Professor of Political Science at San Francisco State University, where he taught courses on U.S. constitutional law, national judicial politics, moot court and judicial process.
Before that, he practiced as a lawyer specializing in constitutional litigation and civil rights.
Professor Conway’s research includes topics such as the U.S. Supreme Court and public opinion, the Shadow Docket, constitutional litigation, media attention to judicial decisions, and political methodology.
Professor Conway obtained his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University and a J.D. from Indiana University—Maurer School of Law. Previously, he practiced as a lawyer specializing in constitutional litigation and civil rights.
