Sara Hundt

Bio

Sara Hundt is passionate about breaking down barriers and building meaningful partnerships in the name of social justice. She has spent her career primarily focusing on immigrants’ rights and post-conviction relief, receiving her J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law in 2018 and her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Cornell University. Immediately prior to joining Bench to School, Sara worked at Centro Legal de la Raza in Oakland, CA as an immigrants’ rights attorney, where she represented adults and youth in deportation proceedings seeking asylum. She also represented clients seeking other forms of humanitarian relief before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Before that, Sara worked at a private immigration law firm and Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach as an immigration attorney, and the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office as a post-bar fellow supporting post-conviction relief cases for folks with pending immigration cases before USCIS. She is excited to translate her advocacy skills towards the work Bench to School is doing on behalf of juvenile justice and disability rights. Sara originally hails from Maryland and has spent the last 11 years living in the San Francisco Bay area. She currently lives in the East Bay with her partner and dog.
