UC Law SF alumni appointed to California's superior courts

Governor Gavin Newsom has appointed two UC Law San Francisco alumni to serve as judges in California’s superior courts.
Thomas Fay ’06 was appointed to the Orange County Superior Court. Fay served as senior and then lead appellate attorney at the Fourth District Court of Appeal from 2020 to 2026, and previously was in private practice.
Stephanie Shirkey ’12 received an interim appointment to begin serving immediately as a judge in the El Dorado County Superior Court, an office to which she had already been elected but had yet to begin her term. Shirkey served as a lead attorney at the Third District Court of Appeal and previously spent 12 years in the California Office of Legislative Counsel.
They join more than 500 living UC Law SF graduates who have served on the benches of state and federal courts across the country.
