The Center for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution (CNDR) is pleased to announce the inaugural recipient of the Francis E. McGovern Scholarship for ADR, Nadiah Hadir!

The Scholarship was created to honor Professor Francis McGovern and support a UC Law San Francisco student committed to alternative dispute resolution within the Center. A third-year student at UC Law SF, Nadiah has taken several classes with CNDR and participated in multiple competitions as part of the Negotiation and Dispute Resolution Team (ADR Team); she is an active member of the ADR Team Board and encourages other students to explore how dispute resolution can impact their professional lives.

Congratulations Nadiah! CNDR is proud to be a part of your legal journey.

Message from the recipient:

“I am truly honored to be awarded the Francis E. McGovern Scholarship through the Center for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution for Spring 2024. Throughout my time in law school, engaging in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) has been exceptionally rewarding. Serving on the ADR Board and team has not only provided me with a strong sense of community but has also ignited a previously undiscovered passion for negotiation and conflict resolution. My goal is to leverage conflict mediation and alternative dispute resolution techniques to advocate for my clients, consistently prioritizing their interests over rigid positions.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Professor Clint Waasted, the CNDR Office, and my fellow UC Law SF ADR team members, both past and present. Their dedication has cultivated an environment where law students can acquire invaluable skills that are essential for our future legal paths.”

CNDR acknowledges and gives thanks to Katy McGovern for establishing this generous scholarship to support ADR-focused students.
