Pathways to ADR Careers

Join the Center for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution (CNDR) and the Career Development Office (CDO) for a career panel with leading ADR provider organizations JAMS & AAA to learn how you can turn dispute resolution into your first career.

Students should RSVP for lunch.

Aaron Gothelf, Esq., Vice President, American Arbitration Association 

Aaron Gothelf is Vice President of the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial Division for the Pacific Region, overseeing California, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. He serves as the National Chair of AAA’s Entertainment Dispute Resolution Advisory Council, and the Western U.S. Chair for AAA’s Healthcare Dispute Resolution Advisory Council. Prior to joining AAA, Aaron was the Northern California Regional Director for Judicate West, a leading provider of mediation and arbitration services in California.

Aaron currently serves as Educational Programming Officer of the ABA’s Dispute Resolution Section. Is Chair of the ABA’s Forum on the Entertainment & Sports Industries, Motion Pictures, Television, Cable and Radio Division. Is a member of the ADR Committee for the Litigation Section of the California Lawyers Association and is on the Advisory Board for the USC Gould School of Law Institute on Entertainment Law and Business. He holds a BA and MA from the University of Southern California, a J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law, and a Mediation Certificate from the Bar Association of San Francisco.


Serena K. Lee, Esq., Vice President of Operations, JAMS

Serena K. Lee is the Vice President of Operations for the San Francisco, Santa Rosa and Seattle resolution centers for JAMS.  She formerly served as a Vice President, Commercial Division, with the American Arbitration Association (AAA).  A frequent lecturer and instructor on alternative dispute resolution processes, Serena has devoted her entire legal career in the ADR field. She is a graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she received her mediator certification.  Serena currently serves as the Vice Chair of the California Lawyer Association (CLA) Litigation Section’s ADR Committee and is an active member of the Asian Bar Association of Greater Bay Area’s Education Committee, where she served as a past Chair. She is a long time member of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution and a former Committee Chair for the Section’s Membership, Young Lawyers and the Fellowship Committees. Serena is an active member of the New York State bar, and she can be reached at SLee@jamsadr.com.


Monica Bowen, VP Talent Acquisition, JAMS

Monica Bowen (She/Her) is an experienced leader in Talent Acquisition. She holds a Business Management Degree and Certifications in HR Management, Diversity and Inclusion, and Strategic HR Leadership. She is passionate about building and leveraging candidate experience to attract diverse talent into the organization. Monica leads strategic efforts in workforce diversity, employer branding, and creating and implementing systems and processes that increase efficiency for her team and enhance the experience for candidates and internal partners.
