The Center for East Asian Legal Studies warmly welcomes students and other community members to join Center Affiliated Scholar and alumnus Jeff Layman (’97) for a conversation about cross-border transactional practice and strategies for building a legal career with international dimensions.

Mr. Layman has nearly 30 years of experience advising on cross-border business transactions around the world.  He is the former China Country Counsel for the Boeing Corporation, where was the primary attorney responsible for Boeing’s business operations there. Prior joining Boeing, Jeff was a partner and chief representative of the Beijing office of Baker Botts.  Most recently, he served as Deputy General Counsel for Venture Global LNG, a company building export facilities to supply the world’s demand for low-cost, clean and reliable energy.
