On Monday, February 28, 2022, the UC Law SF Center on Tax Law will (virtually) host a conference on tax lawmaking. Our keynote speaker will be Rebecca Kysar, counselor to the assistant secretary of tax policy. Panel titles include “The Tax Legislative Process: Reconciliation, Budgeting, and More,” “Tax Practice Perspectives Amid Uncertainty,” and “Tax Administration and Regulation During Times of Transition.”

Confirmed speakers include Daniel Hemel, Professor of Law at the University of Chicago, Jane Gravelle, Senior Specialist in Economic Policy at the Congressional Research Service, Mike Desmond, Co-Chair of Gibson Dunn’s Global Tax Controversy and Litigation Group and former Chief Counsel of the IRS, and Kristin Hickman, Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota and former Special Adviser to the Administrator of OIRA.
