Health Justice Partnership
The Health Justice Partnership (HJP) is a network of California-based medical-legal organizations offering TA, training, and tools to CalAIM providers. As organizations serving diverse low-income Californians, the network’s expertise is in building collective capacity to advance health equity and address social drivers of health. HJP is a project of the UCSF-UC Law SF Consortium on Law, Science & Health Policy (the “Consortium”), housed at UC Law SF.
HJP partners are longstanding California-based organizations in rural and urban areas of the state and have decades of experience addressing the social needs of low-income Californians, such as housing, long-term care planning, housing, nutrition, employment, legal status, and public benefits. Major areas of work include providing consultation, interprofessional training, and tools to support CalAIM providers in effectively addressing Medi-Cal beneficiaries’ social needs across the lifespan. The HJP has particular experience working with and for racially and ethnically-diverse populations, including folks who are aging, living with disabilities, socially-isolated, immigrant, LGBTQi and justice involved communities.
The HJP partners will work closely with organizations to offer comprehensive technical assistance that will strengthen and improve implementation of community supports; strengthen and improve delivery of enhance care management services; assist organizations in advancing health equity; support the building of and engagement in cross-sector partnership; and assist organizations with training and supporting a culturally sensitive workforce.
