2025-2026 Living Expenses (Estimated)
These figures are reasonable estimates of expenses students should expect to incur during the nine-month academic year, mid-August to mid-May. Additional expenses such as housing deposits, credit card debt, or car payments cannot be included in the budget.
*The MLS Fee is $1,875 per unit. 10 units in one semester is considered full-time enrollment. The MLS program requires students pass 24 units in order to obtain the degree. Tuition and Fees are subject to legislative, gubernatorial, and UC Law SF Board of Directors action and may change without notice.
** The Activity Fee is charged annually. Students who attend in the Spring semester but not the Fall semester are charged the Activity Fee in the Spring semester.
***Software the college is requiring each student to have.
**** The UCSHIP Insurance Premium may be waived with proof of alternate insurance. Contact Student Health Services at (415) 565-4612 for more information.
UC Affiliate scholarship
The UC Affiliate Scholarship to available to individuals who at the time of application are employees of the University of California. Please contact MLS Admissions to verify eligibility at mls@uclawsf.edu.
Federal Financial Aid
Full-time students and part-time students (U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents only) who are taking at least five credit hours a semester are eligible for the federal loan program, which includes the Unsubsidized Stafford Loans and Graduate PLUS Loans. As soon as possible after being admitted to the program, MLS students applying for financial aid should submit the FAFSA and the UC Law SF Financial Aid Supplement form. All scholarship and financial aid decisions are made on an individual basis.
