A Broken Judicial System and the Future of Democracy in the Philippines

Human rights attorney Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno will be speaking on the state of the Philippine judicial system, how repression has been codified into law, and lessons for today’s advocates in the age of disinformation He is the Founding Dean of Law at De La Salle University and Chairman of the Free Legal Assistance Group. He previously served as General Counsel for the Philippine Senate’s Committee of Accountability of Public Officers, Special Counsel for the Development Bank of the Philippines, and Presidential Adviser on Human Rights to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
