About Fundamentals of Mediation

About Fundamentals of Mediation certificates

CNDR’s Fundamentals of Mediation is a respected 40-hour basic comprehensive mediation practitioner training that draws participants from across California and around the world. This program provides a unique blend of mediation theory, hands-on mediation skills training, and an exploration of the sensibilities and personal qualities required to be an effective mediator. Participants who attend and actively engage with the full program receive a hardcopy Certificate of Completion, depicted below.

Sample Certificate of Completion

CNDR also issues Certificates of Qualification to participants who both complete the training program and subsequently pass a skills assessment to become an International Mediation Institute–Qualified Mediator. Participants pass the assessment by providing evidence of developing foundational skills in mediation. The option to complete this assessment was available to participants beginning Fall 2026. Sample Certificates of Qualification, which bear both the UC Law SF seal and the IMI logo, are depicted below; these certificates are provided electronically (as at left), though hardcopies may also be requested (as at right). More information about the IMI’s qualification program is available here.

CNDR does not issue duplicates of hardcopy certificates. Hardcopy borders may vary from those depicted here.
