Board of Trustees Foundation Award for Scholarship

Board of Trustees Foundation Award for Scholarship

The annual Foundation Faculty Award was created in 1992 to recognize scholarly excellence and promise, typically in an early-career faculty member.

Nomination & Selection

UC Law SF’s Foundation Board of Trustees is responsible for the advancement of the university’s academic and reputational success.

A selection committee recommends faculty for the award. The current committee includes Provost & Academic Dean Morris Ratner, Associate Dean for Research Dave Owen, a distinguished faculty member nominated by the Foundation Board of Trustees, and the two most recent winners of the award.

Chancellor & Dean David Faigman shares the committee’s recommendation with the Foundation Board of Trustees, which votes to award the recipient.

The recipient receives a $7,500 award to support research costs.
